Something big is about to happen. In two days I'll leave this country to explore a new one. Last year on a certain girls trip to a certain river, a plan was set in motion. We've saved, sacrificed, planned, and plotted and we're about to start packing for what I can only describe as the trip of a lifetime. My friend Ally and I are teachers by way of work, but this summer we're nothing but a couple of girls traveling through Europe. I could not be more excited about what lies ahead of us.
My beautiful and loving momma, however, has seen the film "Taken" one too many times... She has a couple of (irrational) fears about we two being stollen from the streets of blissful vacation-ville and thrust unwittingly into the sex trafficking slave trade. Not to be a downer, Foreign Countries, but that movie may or may not have seriously and irrevocably damaged your image in the minds of terrified American mommas and daddies all over our nation...Thank you, Liam Neeson...
Hence the name of this blog. A couple of months ago I was having lunch with my beautiful momma and we decided a code word or catch phrase needed to be set in place. Something that I could text, email, or social network into existence everyday over the world wide web or a cellular device to let her know that her baby is safe and sound (not to mention blissfully happy and at peace with the universe) over seas. We came up with "Reba Lives"...long story...we'll save it for another day. So, momma, this blog's for you. I hope you find solace in its daily (cough, cough ... whatamIsigningonforherethisseemslikealotofwork) posts.
Peace, Love, and Travel,
Reba
Reba lives? Why not something more mystic like "the bull caught the silver worm"
