Au Revoir, Tex-Mex and Target!!

What an incredibly busy 48 hours this has been!!  Goodness me.  I've been in a whirlwind of family, friends, and last minute impulse buys since two o'clock Tuesday afternoon!  Allyson and I made a Target run to purchase some last minute essentials, after which I came home to do every piece of laundry to my name... I must say, packing has been a daunting task. Thank the good lord above I've had the good guidance of several very significant people in my life.

When my lovely roommate asked me what I would like for dinner last night, after some completely unnecessary but essential pre-Europe thrift shopping, I immediately responded with what every Texas girl would..."Tex-Mex"...let's face it, I have no idea when I'll get it next. Mmmmm, thank you Papasitos for your glorious fish tacos and cilantro rice, not to mention your excellent queso and grand gold margaritas.

Today was a flurry of emotions.  I visited my bank and called my cell phone provider to handle some last minute business.  Made another last minute run (for the things that I didn't get on the first trip) to, you guessed it, Target!!  Took a detour to Old Navy, where I spent more money than I meant to, and then booked it over to my glorious Godmother's house to see my fabulous cousin and her cuter than any boy has a right to be son, Emerson.  You'll never guess what we had for dinner this evening...Tex-Mex again!!  Thank the heavens.  Gringos, I was craving all the black beans and rice and cheese that my body could hold and you delivered!  Also, SURPRISE, my little bro was there.  Small world.  I'm so happy I got to see him before heading out.

Finally, I made it back to my house laden with a fabulous new bag that my parents surprised me with, and began the packing extravaganza!!  My very dear friend of twenty (SHEESH!) years, Stephanie, came over to help me assess what was necessary and what I could do without for the next thirty five days.  Of course, there was wine involved...so...you be the judge.  My loft mate, Matt, came over with chocolate provisions, not to mention an awesome and very gadget-y outlet adaptor thing and a duffle that folds to roughly the size of a postcard.  He said I could use it for souvenirs, I told him I would probably use it for dirty laundry...thanks, Matt!

The next time I post I'll be in Amsterdam!  I love you all.  I'll miss you.  Take care.
